A body recovered the from the shore of the St. Croix River Tuesday has likely been deceased for a long period of time, according to the Pioneer Press.
KSTP reports two friends, both 19, spotted the body around 11:30 a.m. as they were cleaning a beach area in the 900 block of Quentin Avenue in Lakeland.
The Pioneer Press says the gender is unclear because of significant decomposition, but the Star Tribune reports the body is believed to be a man.
The medical examiner is working to determine the identity.
Authorities say no one in the area has been reported missing, according to KSTP.
