Gophers upset by Colorado College, Wisconsin tops St. Cloud State

The WCHA Final Five semifinals saw a couple of upsets on Friday night at the Xcel Energy Center.

The Golden Gophers were shutout by upstart Colorado College, 2-0. Minnesota out-shot the Tigers, 35-20, but failed to put the puck past goaltender Joe Howe.

The Wisconsin Badgers bounced St. Cloud State from the WCHA Final Five with a 4-1 victory on Friday.

Joseph LaBate, John Ramage and Nick Kerdiles each had a goal and an assist for the Badgers.

Wisconsin hasn’t won the WCHA Final Five championship since the 1997-1998 season.

Saturday’s championship game between the Badgers and Tigers starts at 7:10 p.m.
