Target plans to partner with more big-name designers

Despite a disappointing holiday collaboration with Neiman Marcus, Target will continue to offer exclusive collections, the Pioneer Press reports.

“We’re going to continue to do new things, because we believe great design, affordable design, is one of the tenets that separate Target from other retailers,” Target spokesman Joshua Thomas told the newspaper.

Target pioneered the concept of designer partnerships after working with Michael Graves, Missoni and Jason Wu.

Last Sunday, the Minneapolis company launched its newest collaboration with fashion designer Prabal Gurung. The limited-edition line is off to a strong start as shoppers snap up the collection.

Target is also teaming up with Justin Timberlake to offer an exclusive version of his first album in six years. the Star Tribune reports.
