Chanhassen Dinner Theaters invites 100 students onstage

Talented high-schoolers from across the state have been selected to appear in “Bye Bye Birdie” at Chanhassen Dinner Theaters as part of a program to celebrate young acting talent in Minnesota high schools.

The Associated Press says the third annual “StarKid” event allows students to shadow professional actors both onstage and backstage.

Students will get their own dressing rooms and have publicity photos taken for their hometown papers.

Fifty schools registered for the event, each sending two kids.

From Jan. 22 through Feb. 28, BroadwayWorld.com says four student actors will appear in each production Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
