New terminal opens at Duluth International Airport

After four years of construction, a $78 million terminal at Duluth International Airport is finally complete.

The Duluth News Tribune reports the 40-foot tall, glass-fronted building gives a panoramic view of the countryside.

Although the same size as the old terminal, the concourse stretches the width of the building to accomodate more than three times the passengers.

Finishing touches will continue through the weekend. The old terminal will close Sunday night and demolition is scheduled to begin next month.

The first flight departing from the new terminal leaves Monday for Chicago at 6 a.m.
