Nordstrom to open store at Ridgedale Center

Seattle-based Nordstrom announced Friday it will move into the former Macy’s men’s and home store and serve as an anchor store at Ridgedale Center in Minnetonka, along with other anchors Macy’s, JC Penney and Sears, the Star Tribune reports.

The new Nordstrom store will be approximately 138,000 square feet and will open in fall 2015, the company said in a press release.

The Ridgedale store will be the second full-line Nordstrom store in Minnesota. The other is at Mall of America. Nordstrom also runs two Rack stores in the metro, at the Mall of America and at Arbor Lakes in Maple Grove.

The news comes just a day after Macy’s officially announced it was consolidating its space at Ridgedale, as well as closing its downtown St. Paul store.
