SPCO cancels concerts through Feb. 8

The St. Paul Chamber Orchestra’s management has canceled all concerts through Feb. 8 amid continued discord between locked-out musicians and management.

The two sides have not been able to come to an agreement on a new contract after the old one expired Sept. 30. The SPCO last week said it had a deficit of $895,080 for the fiscal year that ended June 30, the Pioneer Press noted.

The SPCO musicians organized what became a sold-out concert at a Wayzata church earlier this month.

In Minneapolis, locked-out Minnesota Orchestra musicians are also mired in a contract dispute with management and concerts were canceled through the end of the year.
