Sterling defense lifted the No. 21 University of Minnesota men’s basketball team over the North Florida Ospreys on Saturday afternoon, 87-59.
Rodney Williams led four players in double figures with 15 points for the Gophers, now 8-1. Minnesota had a season-high 13 blocks and season-high tying 22 forced turnovers and 15 steals, the Associated Press reported.
U of M guard Austin Hollins had 12 points and Trevor Mbakwe and Joe Coleman had 11 each.
The Gophers play next at home against South Dakota State at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
