Roy slow to go, Pekovic could play Friday

After missing three straight games with sore knees, Brandon Roy is hoping to play Friday night when the Wolves host Golden State. Head coach Rick Adelman says Roy is off to a slow start because he’s learning how to play without the explosiveness that once made him an All-Star. Adelman believes Roy will find a way to get to his strengths, but it’s “going to take time.”

Nikola Pekovic and J.J. Barea are both mending sprains, but hope to be back on the court soon. Pekovic did some running on Thursday, increasing the chances that he’ll play Friday night. As for Barea, he may sit out a fifth straight game in hopes of returning next week.
