Golden Gophers football coach Jerry Kill and his wife, Rebecca, are stepping up on behalf of the two million Americans who suffer epileptic seizures, WCCO-TV reported.
The Kills said they are becoming spokespeople on behalf of the disorder. Jerry Kill has suffered epileptic seizures for the past 13 years, and was recently hospitalized after suffering a seizure after the Gophers’ loss to Northwestern Oct. 13.
In support of epilepsy awareness at Saturday’s game, the Gophers will wear purple in addition to the traditional colors of maroon and gold.
Jerry Kill previously suffered a seizure on the Gophers sidelines in September 2011 during a game against New Mexico State.
