School principal bunks on roof for fundraiser

The life of a school principal is not easy. They field parent complaints, maintain student discipline, sort out staff problems. It’s not always easy to sleep at night. Especially if you have to bed down on the roof.

Maplewood’s Gethsemane School Principal Aly Xiong recently said he would sleep on the building’s roof if the school could raise $20,000 for iPads for students in a fundraiser. Parents and friends of the school came through, raising $25,000, and this week Xiong is camping out on top of the K-8 christian school, KARE 11 reports.

In a press release, the principal says he “is not an outdoor person,” but he’s happy to have the money for student learning.
