Lynx go cold in 4th quarter, fall to Fever

MINNEAPOLIS — Tamika Catchings scored 20 points to pace the Indiana Fever to a 76-70 upset win over the Minnesota Lynx at Target Center Sunday night in Game 1 of the WNBA Finals.

Erlana Larkins had 16 points and 14 rebounds for Indiana, as the Eastern Conference champions took a 1-0 lead in the best-of-five series.

Minnesota’s Seimone Augustus led all scorers with 23 points, but it wasn’t enough for the Lynx, who went ice-cold from the floor in the fourth quarter, as they were outscored 20-12 in the final frame.

Game 2 of the series is Wednesday night at Target Center. The Lynx are trying to become the first team to repeat as WNBA champions since the Los Angeles Sparks did it in 2001-02.
