Hundreds line up for chance to meet 'Fifty Shades' author

Hundreds of people, mostly women, lined up for chance to meet “Fifty Shades of Grey” author E.L. James at the Barnes & Noble store in Edina on Thursday, KSTP reports. The writer will sign copies of the book at 7 p.m., but fans queued up Thursday morning to get wristbands to the event.

James has been mobbed by fans at previous appearances, including earlier this year in Miami, the Associated Press reported. Here’s more about the book and author.

Dubbed “mommy porn” by some critics, the trilogy about a college student dominated by an older man has sold more than 20 million copies.

So how about that “Fifty Shades” movie? Universal optioned the novel in May. James has people in mind that she’d like to cast, but she won’t say who, Movieline reports.
