Red Lake Skatepark dedicated

The Red Lake Nation dedicated their new skatepark recently. The project was funded with a $750,000 grant from the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community for youth projects including a skateboard park, basketball court, and amenities at the Ponemah Community Center. Other projects the SMSC has helped within the past six years include a $3 million loan and a $1 million grant for several economic enterprises, a health care center, and youth center; a $31 million loan to fund construction of the new Red Lake Seven Clans Casino and Hotel, a tribal law enforcement center, and a greenhouse; $3.0 million in grants for the tribal fishery; and more.
