Wild offers season-ticket holders 10 percent bonus

It looks as if the Minnesota Wild are doing everything it can to retain the new season-ticketholders (4,000) the club attracted after signing free agents Zach Parise and Ryan Suter this summer.

With an NHL lockout threatening to cancel exhibition and regular-season games, the Wild announced today that it is giving 10 percent interest to tickeholders who keep their money with the club.

According to the Pioneer Press, the team will credit fans for missed games. Not just the value of the ticket, but an extra 10 percent to boot. Once play resumes, that cash can be applied to tickets for future games.

On Sunday, the Wild said in a statement that it supported the NHL’s decision to lock out players.

Most observers, however, doubt the labor standoff will wipe out the entire season as a lockout did in 2004-05.
