With less than two months remaining int eh campaign, two polls show U.S. Sen. Amy Klobuchar holding a lead of about 20 percentage points over Republican challenger Kurt Bills.
A Survey USA poll conducted for KSTP shows Klobuchar with a 21 point lead.
Public Policy Polling puts Klobuchar’s lead at 19 points and says the race looks like a blowout. Their poll of likely voters also found President Obama with a seven point lead over Republican Mitt Romney. That’s a little closer that the 10 point Obama lead found by Survey USA. But PPP says the race “doesn’t look like a toss up by any stretch of the imagination.”
As for the Senate race, Bills is fighting unfamiliarity as well as Klobuchar. Last week the campaign of the first-term State Representative from Rosemount found progress in an internal poll that had him within 14 points of Klobuchar. His campaign says Bills is doing better as voters learn more about him.
