New poll: Marriage amendment vote could be toss-up

Another day, another poll. Two days after a SurveyUSA/KSTP poll revealed that 50 percent favor a gay marriage ban in the state, with 43 percent opposed, another poll shows the margin is much closer, the Pioneer Press reports.

In the latest poll, Public Policy Polling surveyed 824 likely Minnesota voters Monday and Tuesday and found just 48 percent in support of the state constitutional amendment that would define marriage as between a man and woman. There were 47 percent opposed, which essentially means the vote could go either way.

The latest survey was not paid for by a candidate or party, but PPP does surveys primarily for Democrats.
