Organizers reveal location of Dark Star estate, memorabilia sale

St. Anthony Main in Minneapolis has been revealed as the location of the estate sale of Twin Cities media personality Dark Star, reports the Star Tribune.

Dark Star, whose real name was George Chapple, died June 1 at age 66. Dark Star was a longtime fixture on Twin Cities media scene, working as a broadcaster on both WCCO-AM and KFAN Sports Radio.

Organizers said on Friday that they held off on the announcement of the location of the three-day sports memorabilia sale for security purposes.

The Dark Star sale, which begins Saturday and runs three days,  is said to be aimed at “true guys.”

The estate sale’s Web page says that among the sports items being sold are 200 signed balls — “many by baseball greats”; a basketball signed by Michael Jordan, 100 professional team jackets and a jersey autographed by Stan Musial, and numerous signed football helmets.
