Osseo teen's use of Twitter to fight bullying goes national

Kevin Curwick, 17, of Osseo decided he’d seen enough bullying among his peers. He decided it was time to change that. So, he anonymously took to Twitter as @OsseoNiceThings and began peppering fellow students with compliments.

He’d tweet things such as:

He may not go to Osseo, but known by the Osseo community, he’s one of the most genuinely nice kids you’ll ever meet. Carter Burquest.

Puts others before herself everyday. Unselfsish friend. Haley Edwards.

If you know her, you’re friends with her. Megan Noack.

Until recently, nobody knew who the mystery nice guy was. But after an inquiry from Kare11 the world learned that Minnesota’s nicest tweeter was in fact football player Kevin Curwick.

Curwick’s tale of extreme “Minnesota Nice” has gone viral. Several similar Twitter accounts have popped up including, @MapleGroveNice, @MinnetonkaNice and @Chanhassen Nice. Curwick is receiving congratulatory tweets from around the world.

And, his story is going national. USA Today and Huffington Post have done stories on the Minnesota teen and he even got to have a phone conversation with Ryan Seacrest.
