Bills wants Minnesota more like North Dakota

Republican U.S. Senate candidate Kurt Bills says he wants Minnesota to be more like North Dakota in that American farmers should be left alone, with less federal support, Forum Communications reports. That’s how it is with oil producers in western North Dakota, he says.

“My goal is to become North Dakota, not Washington, D.C.,” Bills said Wednesday, referring to that state’s oil boom that he said occurred with little government assistance.

Their first joint appearance was at Farmfest, an agriculture trade show near Redwood Falls.

The two sparred over agriculture spending, the Pioneer Press reports.

Bills and Klobuchar disagreed on pretty much everything, MinnPost reports.
