Police chief replaces St. Paul crime lab leader

St. Paul police chief Thomas Smith has named a new leader of the troubled crime lab in St. Paul, MPR says. Senior Commander Colleen Luna will lead the lab’s reorganization, Smith said.

Smith is vowing to fix the lab’s faults and promises that he is “going to do everything, and I do mean everything” to make sure the lab attained a high standard, the Pioneer Press reports.
