Attorney: 'Adrian was the victim, not the aggressor'

A handful of  developments in the Adrian Peterson case.

First, Peterson has hired high-profile attorney Rusty Hardin to represent him after the Vikings running back was arrested in Houston early Saturday. Peterson is accused of shoving an off-duty police officer in a nightclub. In a statement, Hardin says Peterson is the victim in the case, not the aggressor.

Peterson’s father, Nelson, echoed that story. He tells the Pioneer Press the officer Peterson allegedly shoved used “vulgar language”  towards his son.

A spokesperson tells NFL Network that Peterson will likely face a fine for the misdemeanor charge.

Meanwhile, police have released the mugshot following Peterson’s arrest (below). Peterson, who is charged with resisting arrest, has an initial court appearance Friday.
