'Storage Wars' brings out risk-taking bargain hunters

Storage unit auctions aren’t just for fussy antiquers and second-hand store owners anymore. The A&E show “Storage Wars” has shined a spotlight on people who sometimes strike it rich by buying the contents of storage units at auction without knowing exactly what they are getting. The unit contents are being sold because they have been abandoned or because renters got behind in payments.

Sometimes, treasure hunters find junk, but other times they get lucky.

The Brainerd Dispatch says the auctions are drawing increasingly big crowds.

New episodes of the show begin airing July 10.
