Cremation becomes preferred method of burial in Minnesota

The Minnesota Department of Health says the state had 20,175 cremations last year, compared with 18,070 burials. The Cremation Association of North America also notes that Minnesota had the 17th-highest cremation rate in the country at just under 50 percent in 2010 -- well above the national average of 41 percent.
