Where did Garrison Keillor perform his first 'Prairie Home Companion' show?

On July 6, 1974, “A Prairie Home Companion” made its first live broadcast from the Janet Wallace Auditorium at Macalester College in St. Paul. The show’s first national broadcast would follow nearly four years later, in February of 1978. Garrison Keillor would walk away from the show in 1987, but bring it back in 1989.

This week, The Los Angeles Times printed comprehensive look back at Keillor’s career, and hinted at what’s to come.
