Keep up with Minnesotans in the NCAA Tournament

Royce White, Jordan Taylor and Nate Wolters highlighted day one of Minnesotans in the NCAA Tournament. But they’re not the only ones. Keep track of how our state’s best high school kids are doing on the biggest stage in college.

Jordan Taylor (Benilde-St. Margaret’s) is the biggest Minnesota name on the Wisconsin Badgers roster, but don’t forget about Mike Bruesewitz (Henry Sibley) and Jared Berggren. All three start at Wisconsin, and all three played well in the Badgers’ 73-49 win over Montana. Taylor finished with 17 points, 8 rebound and 6 assists. Bruesewitz added 8 points and 4 rebounds. Berggren, the 7-footer from Princeton, had 7 blocks.

St. Cloud native Nate Wolters nearly led No. 14-seed South Dakota State to an upset over Baylor. The former St. Cloud Tech star led his team with 19 points.

Former Chaska star Jake White started in Wichita State’s loss to Virginia Commonwealth. He missed the only shot he took.

Jonah Travis was a star for DeLaSalle high school last year. He was smart enough and athletic enough to attend Harvard. He played one minute, hitting his only shot in the Crimson’s loss to Vanderbilt.

6-foot-11 forward/center Sam Dower had three fouls in the first half of Gonzaga’s win over West Virginia. The former Osseo star finished with two points on 1-3 shooting for the Zags.

More Minnesotans play on Friday. Check back for updates.
