Known as “The Empress of Soul” for her five decades of entertaining, Gladys Knight will make her first appearance at Mystic Lake Casino Hotel since 1996 this spring. Knight will perform her hits in the Mystic Showroom on Friday, April 27.

Knight has piled up hits in her career, both as a solo artist and as headliner of Gladys Knight & The Pips. She’s earned seven career Grammy Awards, including Best R&B Vocal Performance by a Duo, Group or Chorus for the single “Midnight Train to Georgia” – one of two Grammys Knight earned with The Pips. Her other accolades include an induction into the Hit Parade Hall of Fame, an Essence Award for Career Achievement, a Lifetime Achievement Award from BET, and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Gladys Knight will take the Mystic Showroom stage at 8 p.m. on Friday, April 27, 2012. Tickets are available for $55 and $69.
