Snowplow drivers for MnDOT are practicing their craft on the department's new $98,000 snowplow simulators. Computers allow the drivers to practice hundreds of plowing maneuvers, on terrain ranging from mountain roads to interstate highways. Officials believe the simulators have helped reduce the number and severity of snowplow accidents.
