Source: www.duluthnewstribune.comHomes were evacuated on the southern edge of Ely, while crews are battled a 20-acre fire. Several fire departments were on the scene, using water-bombing planes and helicopters as well as ground crews. A downed power line apparently sparked the fire.

Source: www.kare11.com19-year-old Corporal Wayne Erickson of Minneapolis never returned from a training flight over the south Pacific during World War II. But thanks to years of work by the Pentagon's POW/Missing Personnel Office, Erickson's remains have finally been recovered and identified. He will be buried with full military honors.
